Maybe the singer's and dancers on Arvia are better?

It was Festival on Iona! The other show that week was very good. I thought it didn’t really gel as a ‘musical’. Naff story, better to concentrate on the singing and dancing and cut out the dialogue,

I totally agree. We enjoyed the singing and dancing when we watched Festival on Iona last May, but we found the acting and story line a little cheesy, a bit like watching a 6th form school play 😏

Wasn't much in the Arvia version 

 

Not enough to detract from the singing and dancing too much

 

Certainly not compared to the Spaceman show in the skydome that was certainly way too cheesy and too much dialogue still

100 per cent agree with both those posts above

 

Cut the chat and start singing and dancing sooner

 

Which I think they may have already done with Festival as I say above

Yes, this was the difference and greatly improved the show.

 

Digital (on Arvia in Jan/Feb) was dire; far too much chat and effects. It was total self indulgence from the principal, who I think may have been the artistic director? Certainly thought a lot of himself as he preened around the sunset bar.
