Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2023 So, I just sent off my proof of carnival shareholding’s and I received back a revised booking confirmation which shows that I now owe £100. i paid the full balance several months ago. What gives P&O??? Has anyone had a similar issue?
david63 Posted February 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Are you sure that it is saying you owe £100 and not that you now have an additional £100 OBC?
Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 26, 2023 Author #3 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Yes, the revised booking form says I still owe £100 but the fare for me (1st passenger ) has increased by £100 when both fares should be the same.
binman2 Posted February 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Is it anything to do with your deposit when you booked and was it direct with p and o
Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 26, 2023 Author #5 Share Posted February 26, 2023 I booked direct with P&O and paid the minimum deposit at the time which was £140. I then paid the balance of £1558 mid December.
binman2 Posted February 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Not sure what's happened but I would ring them and see what they say .It probably will be a systems error on their side .It looks like your price is wrong at £949 .I remember seeing a invoice on one of ours and didnt look fully paid although it was through a TA I use but everything was paid up . Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 26, 2023 Author #7 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Another P&O IT technical glitch i guess.
CaptainPedantic Posted February 27, 2023 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2023 Did you make any changes at all to your booking? I think £100 is a standard admin fee for changes made after booking, for example if you asked for a different cabin. Like binman2 I see your passenger 1 price is £100 more than passenger 2. I've had a similar situation previously when I've seen a new deal for a cruise already booked and instead of losing my deposit, I've taken the £100 hit for the admin fee to take advantage of the new pricing. Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 27, 2023 Author #10 Share Posted February 27, 2023 No I haven’t made any changes to the booking at all. I’ve private messaged them on Twitter and am still awaiting a reply so I will post on the outcome
Gimpfacemctavish Posted February 27, 2023 Author #11 Share Posted February 27, 2023 Just had a reply and the error was an administrative error when the shareholder benefit was added. So a simple fix in the end. Thanks for the reply’s. just an afterthought. Sending a private message via P&O Twitter page was pretty quick. A response after a couple of hours and after some booking info it was resolved very quickly and a revised booking quickly sent to my email.
bbtablet Posted March 1, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2023 You'd have had difficulty in paying the phantom £100 by January 2nd 2023 in any case, given that you only received the invoice last weekend! 1

So true, but nothing surprises me with P&O. They mess up something on every cruise I’ve been on so far so I shouldn’t be surprised.
