Apex reservations for main dining rooms

I am leaving on 4/22/23 for a transatlantic cruise and have booked my specialty dining but not the nights for the main dining room. I thought it would be like select dining on other cruises where I would book once onboard or go the night I have dinner. Tonight I thought I would check the site and the restaurants all have 9-9:30 only open! Is that the way select dining works now?

You can either pre book, as some have, or you can show up when you are ready to eat.  The pre booking is limited to about 50% of the capacity which is why you are seeing earlier times not open.  If you go at a busy time you may have a wait sometimes just a few minutes occasionally longer in which case you will be given a beeper and can get a drink or wander while waiting.
