I am trying to decide whether to buy the drink package on our upcoming Alaska cruise with Viking. On the river cruises we always buy the drink package as we like the upgraded wines. However, I know you can bring wine on board so thinking I might purchase wine in the ports. Is it expensive? Do they have any good Cabs from CA?

There are places to buy wine in all the ports.  But do you really want to spend the time to get to the Oaken Keg or Fred Meyers to grab a bottle of wine?
