First timer on RC- what is the typical buy in for bj tournaments and what are the typical pay outs?

Last few times I've played it was $20. Prizes totally dependant on the number playing

Payout is a pretty low percentage of buyin total.  Probably 50-60%at best in most tournaments as I recall.  Maybe they have changed it.     Honestly you are better off just laying 20 down and letting it ride a few times.  But if you view it as entertainment it could be fun.  It takes a long time if you do well enough to make towards the final table.  I’ve won it once.
