Jamaica General safety

We're looking at a cruise next year, with one of the stops in Falmouth. I was surprised to learn how dangerous Jamaica is these days, with the current "reconsider travel" warning issued.

However... at this stop our main interest would be Dunn's River Falls, taking an excursion with the cruise line. We really don't have much interest in the port or exploring on our own. Seems to me that areas along the route to Dunn's are not included in the advisory, with the exception of Steer Town in St Ann Parish. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all in all this seems like a relatively low risk venture?

Yes...Dunns Rivers Falls is their main tourist attraction in this area. You will be safe...but you will be hounded by Vendors and photographers (during climb and after) as you exit the attraction. My suggestion just keep on moving and ignore them. Similar souvenirs at booths by Pier
