bigwhistle Posted March 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2006 We are going on the Spirit on June 3 and are flying into Newark. What is the best way (cheapest and fastest) to get from the airport to the port? Our flight arrives about 11am.

NCL transfers if available. 4. Train or bus http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/airports/html/ewr_transportation.html
de6259 Posted March 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2006 Newark is about an hour drive from nyc piers, so cab fare will be a little steep.
BlueHerons Posted March 14, 2006 #4 Share Posted March 14, 2006 The easiest way to get from Newark to the Port of New York is by car service. Carmel or Tel-Aviv. Call and make a reservation and then you call them when you land and they are there within five minutes. They are usually within a couple of dollars of the price of a cab and a much more pleasant experience.

Nic'sMama Posted March 18, 2006 #7 Share Posted March 18, 2006 You can take a NJ Transit train right from the airport to Penn Station for a few bucks, and a taxi from there to the pier can't be too much, although I'm not sure if the pier charges a fee for drop-offs. From the website (www.nypst.com) it looks like it might be about a $20 fee. Don't know if that applies to taxis. HTH.
mattsmom Posted April 5, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 5, 2006 Can you expand on this if leaving from Red Hook and want transportation from EWR
smeyer418 Posted April 5, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2006 It will be about $70.00 cab fare frome EWR to Red hook terminal. Black cars will probably be more(not always true). There is no direct connection. You can take a bus from in from of the air terminal to Port Aurthority NY for about 15.00 per person. Then a cab for about $30.00 to brooklyn. Cabs will give you no problem going. They are used to going to the Brooklyn Heights/carrol gardens area). Just tell them is right behind the brooklyn battery tunnel in Brooklyn and to take the first exit that says Hamilton Ave.
