It's been nearly a year now since his retirement.  I sent an email to the Mariner Society and the only response that I received was:

 

Thank you for your recent correspondence with Holland America Line regarding Mr. Bernhoft Retired Mariner Society Director.  The position has not been filled.
 
However, we have an amazing team with stellar performances reviews who are happy to assist you, in any way possible.
