Transport Canada has just released a new Ship Safety Bulletin providing recommendations with respect to COVID 19. Mandatory requirements for cruise ships operating in Canadian waters have been removed, but to maintain the safety of passengers and crew onboard cruise ships, SSB 10/2023 strongly recommends that the industry continue to follow the guidance in Transport Canada’s public health framework, outlined within the bulletin. These include vaccinations and pre-cruise testing, measures that cruise lines are unlikely to implement on a voluntary basis IMO.
