Renting Cabanas in the Retreat: Discovery Princess

Reading conflicting information about the cabanas in the Retreat. I’m hoping I can get some feedback to clarify but fear I will only find comments to compound the confusion … and yet, I will open it up to all of you.

I know the Sanctuary is a pay to play area. I have read some things that say the cabanas are available to rent in the Retreat as well.

Has anyone rented the Retreat cabanas? When did you rent it? How much did you rent it for? What was your overall experience?

Thanks for any thoughts!

I was on the Discovery last November and the cabanas right above the retreat area were free for anyone to use. My cabin was on the Sky deck so I spent a lot of time up there.I don't know if things have changed though since then.

Same for us in December - free but impossible to get on a sea day - people always had their stuff on them to save them very early in the morning. In fact that was our experience for the entire Retreat Pool - even just a lounge chair on the lower level. We only were able to use that area on port days when we stayed on ship.

This is both unfortunate and unsurprising.

Not gonna lie, makes me want to go even earlier and take as many chairs as I can, only to be there to give them away to people that show up at a reasonable hour to enjoy them.
