Magica Questions please...4/28/06

We just returned from MSC Opera and loved the ship except for the casino, looking at booking the Magica and concerned that the casino will be as BORING as the Opera. We love to gamble in a "fun" not stuffy casino anyone have any gambling experiences on the Magica or other Costa ships in the US.

Since they're owned by Carnival hopefully their casinos are run by American standards. also does anyone have an ideal what the ratio of Americans on board in the US.. Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid we need a little explination where, just exactly is your definition of a 'boring' casino and what is your definition of an 'exciting' casino. the casino on the magica is like any other casino i've been in in las vegas or canada. there are people sitting at the slots drinking, smoking, tossing money in, smacking the button time after time. the tables were packed at busy times but empty at non busy times. (mostly fuller towards the end of the cruise) it looked like everyone was just having a normal gambling time. hope that helps.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'american standards' but the games and they way the games were played were just as i'd seen in every other casino.

Concerning the American ratio. I went on the magica on 2/26-3/5 and english speaking americans were DEFINITLY the MINORITY there. there were a lot of french and italian speaking people and a lot of europeans and TONS of fun lovin canadians. (this is because 'spring break' for canadians schools was around this time) I loved it, i am an american and did not care about the cultural diversity, we americans live with it ever day and are tolerant.

however, if you do not like cultural diversity, i would tell you to shy away from costa and try another more american themed cruise line.

It's those darn Italians and Englishmen that spoil it ;) Just kidding of course:)

I don't gamble but the casino looked pretty normal to me.

Two questions for Mr Trizeo

1. How come your name was Joe before the cruise and is Jim now that you are back:rolleyes: You can tell me, I promise to keep it a secret.

2. Have you decided on your next cruise yet?
