Can someone explain how Carnival Fun Match works?

If you are in a loyalty program from another cruise line or a land based casino you may qualify for a free Carnival Cruise minus taxes and port fees. Here is the link:

We are prime members of a land based casino which offers 1 free cruise a year with MSC. We signed up for Carnival Fun Match and uploaded our casino card with the free cruise certificate. Carnival gave us a free cruise in an interior cabin with free drinks in the casino. We put down a $200 deposit but was given that back in OBC. We paid about $150 for taxes and port fees. Royal Caribbean also has this promotion but you can not have cruised with them in 3 years. We cruised Royal last February so we did not qualify.

I signed up for their fun match, and was offered a comp OV with $100 free play and free drinks in the casino.  I ultimately decided to pass based on researching Carnival.  The biggest issue was they limit the number of drinks you can have in a day.  and a pretty low limit at that

With the drink package you are limited to 15 alcoholic drinks per day. We do not purchase the drink package as it is not worth it for us. Personally, if I drank more then 15 drinks per day you would have to peel me off the ceiling! 🤮
