Help! Looking for ideas post cruise Jacksonville

I am sailing on the Carnival Elation starting on Saturday.  I am looking for some ideas on what to do for a few hours after debarkation on January 18.  My flight isn't until 4:35pm.  I'd rather not sit in the airport all day.  I would need someplace that can store my suitcase while I am there.  Id love to do the Zoo, but I am not sure if they can store the luggage.

 

Any suggestions appreciated.  TIA

Doesn't look like the Zoo has luggage storage, but you could call and ask.

 

You don't have enough time to do a lot (e.g., St. Augustine, Amelia Island, etc.), but you could get a shuttle to the airport, rent a car, and explore, including the Zoo, with your luggage in the trunk,
