To/From Taormina from Giardini Naxos port

8 of us planning a DIY day at Taormina...Looks like it's a tender port at Giardini Naxos. 

 

Suggestions from those that have gone before us?

 

How best to get from pier to town and back?

Take a taxi. They will be at the port. It is a short ride up to Taormina. Plenty of taxis there to gey back.  About 25 euros each way (as of two years ago).

Has anyone taken the bus from the port of Giardini-Naxos to/from Taormina?

 

This is our DIY day and our goal is to enjoy Taormina.....Not in a hurry. 

 

If so, where do you catch it? Crowded?  Any issues returning to the port/ship?  Any tidbits of intel appreciated.

I have the exact same question.  If someone could answer, that would be great!  Actually, I'll just start a new topic and ask the question again.
