Car Rental Between Quebec City to Portland Maine

Hi, We are cursing from Boston to Quebec City in September and would like to drive back home to the Portland area. Has anyone done this before? If so any information on where to get a rental would be appreciated.

You can but the one way drop fees from Canada to the US can be substantial-- $200-300+ on top of normal rental fee (because they know they need to bring it back). Also there is only a limited number of cars the major rental companies have allocated for cross boarder use so will limit what's available. 

 

Any of the major rental companies-- Hertz, Budget, Avis, etc will do it but just look at the fees before you book.

I am still trying to find a rental.
They do have them from the airport in Quebec City to the Jetport in Portland. From what I can tell, it may be too early to reserve one, I have put fake dates in and get several companies that offer it. 
I am going to try closer to June and see what happens.

Thanks for the update! I admit - I decided to change cruises to the Jade (instead of Gem), same week, but Newfoundland instead of Quebec, and round trip.  🙂
