Non-Princess AIR Arrangements ?

Do I need to fill out the Air Flight Request Form that came in my pre-cruise packet if I--

-purchased my own air arrangements because I am arriving early(4days) and departing a day late

-I do not have Princess transfers

-I do not have hotel(pre or post cruise)booked through Princess

I'm assuming I do not need to send them in 45days in advanced because of the above reasons.

My real ? is**Are there any advantages or disadvantages to sending in my flight arrangements to Princess, ie., getting off the ship earlier or later during disembarking?:confused: Thanks.
