Has anyone pre registered for the Pacific Dawn and if you did have you got dates and prices yet?

Rach

PS Thanks to all for letting me clear my head over the changes to my job and the impact on my original cruise plans last night in the chat thread. Feel much happier about it today:)

I have spoken to P&O today as bookings were meant to open to the public today.

Apparently they are doing some itinerary changes and now they do not know when bookings will open.

I am monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will advise as soon as I hear more.

Cheers,

Deb

Mmmmmm

Sounds suspiciously like they believe there may be a delay. Given their experiences with the late delivery of both Sun and Sky maybe they are building in some fat to the schedule just in case. It seems these upgrades etc never run to what always appear to be aggressive timeframes.

P&O now have a link on their website showing floorplans etc of PD. You can also register to receive info from P&O as it becomes available.

The link is http://www.pocruises.com.au/html/pacific_dawn_enquiries.cfm

Interestingly, the major design change from Regal Princess to PD is the movement of the casino and converting this large area (in the hump at the front) to a bar and lounge area. This makes sense given US ships tend to have much bigger casinos than would be required by Australian clientele.

It doesn't appear that there is a waterslide in the plan currently which is surprising given the popularity of this family-friendly feature on Sun.

From the map, it apeears that none of the balcony cabins or suites can be configured to take a family of 4 which is mildly disappointing.

The latest news is that Pacific Dawn bookings open to the general public next Tuesday 18 April. The only change appears to be that the maiden cruise is now on 26 Oct 2007 for 8 nights instead of 24 Oct for 10 nights.

I have downloaded itineraries for 26 Oct, 3 Nov, 9 Nov, 17 Dec, 27 Dec and 8 Jan 2008.

Info for 23 Nov, 1 Dec. 9 Dec are not yet available.

If you want copies of the itineraries, please email cada711@optusnet.com.au.

Cheers,

Deb
