Does anyone know how long a train ride it is from Rostock to Lubeck? Is there anything of interest in Rostock? Thanks for any information.

This site is the official German railways site (that link should bring up the English language timetable search page). It looks like it takes almost 2 hours between Rostock and Lübeck, with one change at Bad Kleinen. If you search for Lübeck, make sure you either type (or copy-and-paste) it in like that (including the umlaut over the "u"), or else type it in as "Luebeck" which is the recognised way of spelling out a letter with an umlaut. The abbreviation "Hbf" means Hauptbahnhof, or main railway station.

I think Rostock is very charming. And, in MHO, is a great alternative instead of the madness of trying to see Berlin in a day with a 5-hour minimum round-trip commute.
