lilibel Posted April 22, 2006 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2006 Dear Rypero, I have been following the Wind since we sailed on her 11/05, and did notice for the past couple of weeks she has been in dry dock. Where is she? Wonder what they are doing to her? Any information? Thanks, Lillie

RYPERO Posted April 23, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted April 23, 2006 Dear Rypero, I have been following the Wind since we sailed on her 11/05, and did notice for the past couple of weeks she has been in dry dock. Where is she? Wonder what they are doing to her? Any information? Thanks, Lillie She is in San San Francisco and they typically just freshen up the insides (new carpets and paint) and work on all of the mechanicals that are under the water. There doesn't seem to be anything drastic happening (i.e. adding cabins or stretching) on this one. I have been following her as well since she sailed into Kalapaki Bay the morning of my wedding in June of 2004
mulvihill Posted April 23, 2006 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2006 We are thinking of booking an 11 day trip in March of 2007. We know nothing of the "Wind" but have been on the "Sky" on her last trip through the Panama Canal in 2004. I would love to hear all you have to say about a trip on the Wind at that time of year in Hawaii. These boards have always been an excellent place to find out the good, the bad and the ugly but have yet to scare me away. We just want to know what to expect. I am not fond of flying and the thoughts of so many hours in the air to get to Hawaii scares the crap out of me!! I am glad to see it in dry dock. It should be right up to par for us next March!! Thanks for any help you can give me. Anne
referee Posted April 23, 2006 #7 Share Posted April 23, 2006 what are the chances that they fit her with new, more efficent stabilizers?
cheryllsr Posted April 24, 2006 #8 Share Posted April 24, 2006 We just got back from a trip on the Wind from Hawaii to Ensanada, Mexico on April 12th. They took the ship to be worked over and outfitted for moving it to Alaska now. They have to put the Casino back on also since in Hawaii it wasn't allowed. We had a great time and the crew on this ship was awesome!
FnyFACEnAL Posted April 24, 2006 #9 Share Posted April 24, 2006 Anne, I also have fears when flying. Most flights across the water are on much larger planes and you don't even know you are in the air. I carry a portable DVD player and watch my favorite movies. Hubby understands there will be no helicopter tours while in Hawaii for this traveler. We will be on the Wind in December :) and are very excited.
