Nyc-meaningful Visit

Just a suggestion if you are spending extra time in NYC before or after a sailing. Give 3 hours of your time. Every time we visit or cruise out of NYC, we remind our children how blessed we are to have all the wonderful travel experiences we've shared.

There is a soup kitchen just a few blocks west of Midtown. If you can scoop food onto a tray and pour beverages - you're qualified. It's very simple to volunteer and you even get a complimentary lunch with the other volunteers!(Not many free lunches in NYC). We've met many wonderful people and find it a rewarding time for our family.

PS: I have no affiliation with this charity, we just think it's a great cause.

I think that's a lovely and charitable thought.

However, with your information, I don't think anyone could find the place. I wouldn't be able to find it given your directions and I've lived here all my life. Midtown is anywhere between about 40th and 60th streets, from about Lexington to 8th avenues.

Could you provide a name and/or an address?
