Hotels in vicinity of New York port?

I am looking at the Oct 14th Carnival Legend cruise, any advice on NY port or hotels would be appreciated.

Plenty of hotels throughout the city. Given how easy, and fairly inexpensive, taxis are you could stay just about anywhere on the island.... with any midtown location being ideal.

 

It all depends upon your budget. How much are you looking to spend on a room?

Midtown is a great area to stay for a pre-cruise. I liked the Sheraton Manhattan Hotel and Towers and there is also another Sheraton Manhattan across the street (I've only stayed at the first one). Big hotel with lots of rooms and service. Great location, just north of Times SQ. Everything is close including the midtown seaport. Only a few bucks by cab.
