MarilynJeff Posted June 1, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2006 Can my 18 year old friend and his friend get a reservation? Or do they need to have some one older in the cabin.?
Cruising89143 Posted June 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2006 From RCI Can unaccompanied minors cruise? Effective July 1, 2005 guests under the age of 21 must be booked in a stateroom with an adult who is 21 years or older. A parent or legal guardian must accompany guests under the age of 18 and must be booked in the same or adjacent stateroom. Acceptable proof will be required. These restrictions may be waived at our discretion where applicable. Please note: An individual's age on the date of sailing determines his or her status for the entire cruise vacation. Royal Caribbean International does not accept bookings for student groups. Please consult a travel agent for Royal Caribbean's group policies. BearySweet2Cruise Posted June 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2006 The policy is that an 18 yr old cannot book. Guests under 21 must be booked in a stateroom with an adult who is 21 or older. You also have to be 21 to gamble in the casino. An 18 yr old can drink beer or wine as long as a parent has signed a waiver. The only exeption to 18 yr old booking on own and traveling with out a 21 yr old is if they are married and have proof when boarding. Humm... I thought that a couple of years ago, that there had to be at least one person in the statroom who was 24? Humm.. well, anyways, that is what I am reading in front of me now .. regarding 18 yr olds.. (need someone 21!) Have fun and happy cruising.

BearySweet2Cruise Posted June 1, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2006 Actually the age for gambiling is 18....Unless on an Alaskan cruise.:) Ok .. I am sorry if I am wrong..I have the rccl catalog and in the FAQ, it says that "guests 21 or older are welcome to play in our casinos". It's been a long time since I was 21, so I do not have first hand experience with this, only what the RCCL brochure is saying.. Can anyone validate if it is really 18 or 21? pharaoh Posted June 1, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 1, 2006 You can be 18 to play in the casino. From the website: Casino Admission Guests 18 years of age or older are welcome to play. Some Alaskan ports require a minimum age of 21.
Dave85 Posted June 1, 2006 #9 Share Posted June 1, 2006 It is 100% 18 to gamble unless you're on an Alaskan cruise, when it is 21 (because of U.S. law).
