Sue L Posted June 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2006 When you are snorkeling or other water stuff you need a water wallet. They are available at Sports Authority or other sports store. You put everything in it and the top "seals" . It is worn around the neck and is about 3x5 inches. If you don't have time, they do sell them on the ship in the same store with all the t-shirts and stuff. They are more expensive on the ship of course. Have a great time!!! zqvol Posted June 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2006 I leave my wallet on the ship. I carry a credit card, DL, sign and sail card and some cash in a small water proof container that I tie to my bathing suit and slip in a pocket.
Maxax Posted June 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2006 We usually bring a little beach bag, or backpack type of bag with us on excursions. When we get in the water to snorkle...we just stick (what little money we are carrying with us)...but just stick all of our stuff in our bag...and go get in the water. Like another person said, we have never worried about the stuff in our bag when we are in the water. Usually, everyone else with you...is in the water too! Maybe we've just been really lucky....but we've never had any problems with theft to date!

caribbean dreams Posted June 4, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2006 If you are going on the catamaran snorkel through the cruiseline, everyone just leaves there beach bags on the cat while they are off snorkeling.
momof4boys Posted June 4, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 4, 2006 We are super cautious in general, but we also "hid" our stuff in the beach towel bag when we snorkeled twice last year on booked CCL excursions. We thought about those waterproof wallets but did not get around to getting one. This time our group of 15 will do the same. When we went to the open beach we hid stuff but someone was always sitting under the umbrella. We did not feel quite as safe on the beach in Nassau. Possible because so many people walking around selling stuff.
yst347 Posted June 4, 2006 #9 Share Posted June 4, 2006 I leave my wallet on the ship. I carry a credit card, DL, sign and sail card and some cash in a small water proof container that I tie to my bathing suit and slip in a pocket. I do exactly the same thing but also carry my wife's S&S card so she has no valuables in her bag. We also leave our camera on the ship and use a disposable underwater camera for these types of excursions.
