Private Tour Companies in Skagway

Has anyone used Southeast Tours or Frontier Excursions for the Yukon tour in Skagway? We would like to go up to Emerald Lake and would prefer not to rent a car but instead let someone else do the driving for us. We took the Whitepass Railway trip on our last trip, so we wanted to do something different this time. Thanks for any information you can give me.

Frontier and Southeast are both long-time operators in Skagway with good reputations. In general I give the edge to Frontier for the quality of their guides, though.

The tours give you very little free time, but some of the nicest custom gold jewelry available in the North can be found at The Barracks. And for some reason few people ever set foot on the beach - a beautiful place to just mellow out for a few minutes.

 

Have a great trip! In a couple of hours I'm off on an 11 day tour that ends in Anchorage - and we finally have fabulous weather for a trip like that :D
