calexand Posted July 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2006 We have a late departure 7:00 pm from Venice. Has anyone any experience with Luggage being transfered from the ship directly to the airport? The Venice Cruise Terminal website identifies this service but I'm having no luck in contacting them. Sailing with Oceania anyone with experience on how they deal with luggage in Venice? wwinfl91 Posted July 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2006 When we were there in 2003 coming off the Golden Princess, we used Princess transfers to get our luggage and us to the airport. Once there we stored our luggage in the held luggage office in the lower airport terminal building and returned to Venice for an additional 4 day stay at our hotel. The luggage was transported to the airport in trucks and was waiting for us to pick up in a roped off area in front of the terminal. I don't know if there is anyway to have the luggage transferred to the airport and then stored without you being there to facilitate that. I will tell you that if you elect to do as we did and go to the airport store the luggage and then return to Venice you will take up at least a couple of hours of your time in Venice. You will also need to leave Venice to get back to the airport by 5 PM or so as they request you arrive at least an hour or more before your flight. There is supposed to be a luggage storage facility both at the port itself and at the railroad terminal. You might be able to store your luggage there and return and get a taxi to take you and your luggage to the airport after a visit to Venice. Good luck in finding a way to do all of this. Have a great next cruise.
