Restaurants from Anchorage to Denali?

We are driving from Anchorage to Denali around dinner time. We don't want to stop in Talkeetna, as it looks like it is 1/2 hour out of the way (1 hour additional driving time).

 

Can anyone recommend any restaurants along the highway from Anchorage to Denali? Maybe in Wasilla?

 

We'd prefer something authentic Alaskan (reindeer, bison) rather than fast food places.

Actually, it will take you about 20 minutes to get to Talkeetna from the Parks Highway and the food at the Talkeetna Lodge is excellent.

 

Our favorite place to eat in Wasilla is the Shoreline Restaurant at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn on the west side of town. Great view of the lake and excellent food as well. They do wonderful things with fish and steaks; you won't leave hungry.

Not sure of your timing??? Are you looking to leaving Anchorage around dinner time??? Plenty of places to eat there, and Wasilla is only 40 miles away??

 

Talkeetna has one of my favorites the Latitude. In Cantwell, I alway stop at the Lazy J, fantastic burgers, but other specials, The Perch is also very good.

We're leaving Anchorage around 5 PM. We hope to combine dinner with a stretch/bathroom break to break up the drive a little. Thanks for the recommendations!

Wasilla will only be about an hour into your trip so you may want to wait to Talkeenta.
