swimgirl Posted July 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted July 8, 2006 If someone (not me, of course!) wanted to stop enroute from the airport to the pier, where could they buy beer, soda, water? Thanks!
Nana G Posted July 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 8, 2006 Made 2 cruises out of San Juan and at both piers that are in use, beer, wine, and liquor can be purchased right inside the terminal before embarkation. No soda, water, etc.
Clubber Posted July 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 8, 2006 You can hit one of the Pueblo Supermarkets on the way. There are several in the area. Click on my link below and you can see their locations listed.
swimgirl Posted July 8, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted July 8, 2006 Thanks for the info! We'll just ask the taxi driver to stop at the Pueblo (so my "friend" can buy beer).
justcruising Posted July 13, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2006 Years ago, some friends and I purchased a case or so right at the pier and walked right onto the ship with it. I don't know if they allow that, or if they were just to busy before embarkation to notice. I will be going back soon, and was wondering if we can still do this...? Thanks in advance. 2VaCruzers Posted July 17, 2006 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2006 We were on a cruise last month and left from San Juan at pier 4. There's a duty free shop (no beer, soda, or water, tho) and you could buy there, put it in your carry on and just walk right onto the ship. The gentleman at the counter at the duty free told my son that security before getting onto the ship work for Puerto Rico. So of course, they're not going to confiscate or not allow you to take purchases that put $$ into their country. I'm curious, though, to hear if anyone's cruised on RCCL and if there's a duty free from the pier they use in SJ.
CruiseGoer2107 Posted August 6, 2006 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2006 Is there a must have local beer that we should try?
onlysister Posted August 6, 2006 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2006 I am glad this was posted, was gonna ask about buying bottled water before getting on the ship. I have heard about all the swelling problems people have and I figured if I got a bunch of bottled water, could save a little and not have to drink the water on board. Could someone tell me how much bottled water is on board? I will be on the AoS. Thank you Dawn
