Visas ?

Does anyone know if Visas are necessary for the World Cruise on the QM2?

We have cruised to Turkey, Greece, France, Spain and Italy and did not need a Visa for any of these ports.

However, I do not know about Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, etc.

Thanks

The information posted at State does NOT help at all.

A fee of 100. will be collected upon arrival at the airport?

As I understand it, IF you arrive by SHIP, and stay less than 24 hours, you do not need a Visa..unless anyone tells me otherwise.

Of course, there is nothing on the Cunard website about this.

Go to ZVS.com. They have a link to cruises and you can download a packet for the cruise when Cunard releases it tl ZVS for uploading.

My travel agent and the Cunard World Cruise specialist went over the entire itinerary port by port.

NO Visas are necessary, unless we intend to take an extended overland excursion.

What a relief!

Did you happen to learn whether there are any required vaccinations or innoculations for the world cruise?

Thank you very much for posting the information about the Visas. We were curious about this also.

Go to this web site:

http://www.abriggs.com/high_level/foreign_entry_requirements.php?source=google-visa-requirements&gclid=CL_U747_sIYCFQmXHgodUhqlGA

or go to Google and search for visa requirements. It will take you to this Abriggs website that has a lsiting of all th ecountries that require a visa.. According to briggs, we will require a visa for Uruguay (in addition to Brazil). If you are journeying on, I suggest you visit this web site. It seems your TA and the Cunard World Cruise specialist may be incorrect!

I don't believe this for an instant! I'd do some serious checking before commencing the cruise. If you don't have the necessary Visas you will not be allowed to sail!

In some cases the ship applies for a 'blanket visa' for a particular port but this is not always possible. EG for Australia you will definitely need a visa.... even just to call at an Australian port... never mind overland tours.

Also... 'I don't intend going ashore in that port' won't hold water. You will still need visa. On the 1995 World Cruise I forked out around $1,200 for visas! In once case I was charged $0 for a Phillippines visa that expired two weeks before the ship was even due to arrive in Manila!!!!!!

My suggestion.... make sure you are 100% certain.

Call Zira Visa Service in NY. You send them an itinerary and your passport details and they will let you know what visas to get.
