Blue46 Posted July 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Irons are one of the biggest no no's on any cruise ship. Most people either hang thier clothes in the bathroom as they are taking a shower or have them pressed using the ships laundry service.
greatam Posted July 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2006 I know they do not provide irons but can you bring your own. We have a small travel one. Yvonne NO!!! One of the biggest fire hazards on a ship. If your ship has self service laundry, use the iron there. If not, send everything out that needs ironing when you board. Average $3.00 per item-most ships. Usually returned around noon the next day.
Cotton Posted July 20, 2006 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Standard answer from all cruise lines - NO irons of any kind allowed in cabins. It would help if you reference a specific cruise line in your questions.:) Carnival, for instance, has passenger laundry rooms on each deck - washers, dryers, ironing boards, and irons. Nitemare Posted July 20, 2006 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2006 Some lines DO have laundry rooms with irons. You can send things out to be pressed for reasonable prices.

greatam Posted July 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2006 Would a water based steamer be OK? Yvonne Yes. However, for the $20-40 a good steamer costs (unless you already own one), you can have the ship press almost all your clothes. Downy Wrinkle Release works wonders on Khakis, shorts, (cottons). Steamers take a LONG time to work well, if your clothes are very wrinkled.
