If you are sailing out of Florida this weekend keep your eye on the weather

Recommended Posts

We have a tropical storm warning up. It has all ready been named CHRIS. It is expected to hit southern Florida this weekend. Depending on the high air masses. Ships will usually change direction if a storm is coming. But you had better keep tabs on it. The weather is saying it could become a hurricane.

First of all, Florida is NOT under a tropical storm warning. The tropical storm warning is in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. This storm is not forecast to become more than a tropical storm, and most likely will dissipate due to other weather systems that will encouunter within the next 72 hours or so.

Of course at this time of year, people should pay attention to the weather, but lets not get cruisers all excited and worried over something that is not even as bad as one of our afternoon thunderstorms this time of year.
