Seattle Monorail is currently shut down

Recommended Posts

FYI, the Seattle Center Monorail, which runs from Seattle Center (Space Needle, EMP) to downtown Seattle is currently shut down due to mechanical problems. They say it needs a $4.5 million upgrade to keep it from breaking down again. So, if you're trying to get to/from Seattle Center on public transportation, take the #3 or #4 bus. It stops along 3rd Avenue in downtown, then turns and goes over to 5th Avenue by Seattle Center (5th Avenue runs along the east side of Seattle Center). It comes by pretty regularly, especially during rush hour. Fare is $1.50 peak, $1.25 off peak.
