Anyone booked on Sea Princess for 12/23?

We're going on the Sea Princess for 14 days on 12/23. I've been on the Sea before but not since its come back form P&O. Can anyone give me an update and FYI's ?

We sailed on the Sea last November and have no complaints at all. In fact it was so great, we booked it again for this year. Only thing we found not to our liking was the way they cut the casino in half. It is really tiny now as they said they needed to put tables for board games in, which the brits enjoy (although I rarely saw any of them occupied). They turned the old game room into a very nice internet cafe.

I hate when they mess with the casino. :( They did the same thing on the Caribbean P. and put in a video arcade. Do they still have the pizza parlor on deck 8 by the elevators?

They sure do, right outside the entrance to the casino, and it is as good as always. One of our favorite alternate places for lunch and dinner.

 

Yep, the casino is very very tiny now. The beginning of the cruise it didn't seem to matter as most of the Brits don't seem to gamble as much as Americans do. But towards the end of the cruise, I actually witnessed arguements over certain nickle machines with lines waiting to play them. Later in the evening, even the larger denomination machines were totally full. While all along, the tables set up for board games were almost completely empty. :( What a waste of what could have been a very nice little casino.

But aside from that, the ship is/was in great shape and the food and service were top notch.

Well, I'll save some money then, but the casinos on the Sun class ships were always so nice. I know they actually out source all the casinos now yet they make tons of money, rarely paying out. Good thing they left the pizza parlor alone.
