dwrist Posted September 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2006 i got an upsell from a mini suite to and opwners suite aboard the star to the mexican riviera, what can i expect ammenities wise with having this room , including the butler and concierge. has anyone stayed in thsi room any info would be great Which suite do you have? We had 9006 and it is huge. You will have a front balcony and a side balcony. For Mexico you will enjoy both. You have a huge bathroom with a walk in shower big enough for two people with 4 shower heads. A jacuzzi tub with a window and TV. A phone in the toilet area. Two basins with lots of space to stow your toiletries. A walk in closet with a pants presser. Much drawer space. A king bed with night stands and lamps, chair with ottoman, a clock, desk with computer(you pay for internet time). A dining area with five(that is what we had) chairs and table. A couch(hard), chair, ottoman were in the living area. A guest bathroom was off the living area.Lots of shelves everywhere. They will have a bottle of bubbly awaiting you as you are escorted to your suite by the Concierge or Butler. You will receive three bottles of alcohol (butler will have a list for you to chose from) All the water, pop, mixers, etc you want. You will receive snacks daily. You will have preferred seating for all the shows if you want. Great seats, balcony overlooking the stage. Basically anything you want ask and they will try to provide, including reservations at the speciality restaurants;) . Have a great time and enjoy. Once you have tasted an Owner's Suite, you will want nothing less on future cruises. :)

dwrist Posted September 13, 2006 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2006 thanks dwrist that was alot of quick info, we are in 9506, question, when boarding do we look for someone to take us on board, or is there a line we go to? When we sailed in Feb on the Star there was no person available to ask, so we followed the crowd. Next time we will search for that person. We were told to go sit in the area with other cruisers and when we went to check in, the check in people pulled us out of line and had us wait for our butler to escort and carry our carry ons for us. Went to a special line for credit card and sail cards. Then were escorted to our penthouse (9002) In Alaska we ask the person we met at the door where is suite check in and from there they escorted us to a special waiting area(we were early) where they served water and juice, sandwiches. We wore smart resort casual for the Captain's party. Since this is your honeymoon, dress up. Take advantage of all the fun. It took us 37 years to cruise. There is one formal night, an one optional formal night and it is not required to be formal but is nice to dress up. Some wore tuxs and gowns (for formal night), some wore suits and cocktail dresses and resort casual for the rest of the time. Any questions just ask. sepakcruiser Posted September 13, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 13, 2006 We just got off the Star and stayed in 9506! It's a wonderful room and you will be spoiled. The room has all the things that the previous poster listed. You will be invited to the Captains Party on the optional formal night and to a VIP party with the Captain. People dressed nicer on the formal night though few went all out (there were some but they were in the minority). The invitations will have suggested attire but the key here is wear what you are comfortable wearing within the guidelines (generally no jeans, shorts, tanks, swim attire). When we checked in, our concierge was brought over to us and we were escorted onto the ship and to our suite. They did have a special line only for those in Penthouses, Owners Suites, and Garden Villas. That was in Seattle so I'm not sure if LA is different. If you happen to have Carlos as your concierge, say Hi to him from The Larkins. He was wonderful and really made the cruise special for us. Have a great time! -Karen

dwrist Posted September 13, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2006 Tell Henry, your butler, hello from Dave and Sharon. He will be good to you. I do not know who your concierge will be, Carlos was due for vacation. I know you both will enjoy the OS and all the good things that come with it. Let Henry know it is your honeymoon. I forgot to tell you, there will be fresh flowers and a fruit basket. The fruit will be switched out through the week. Enjoy and let is know what you thought of the OS and cruise. :)
