Warnemunde to Hamburg?

Since Warnemunde to Berlin is 2 1/2 to 3 hours one way, I was thinking of going to Hamburg instead. How far by train or bus would that be? Also, is there much to see in Hamburg?

Hamburg is about 120 miles and 2 hours away by road, 2½-3 hours by train.

 

Hamburg is worth a week's visit all by itself. A day trip from Warnemuende to Hamburg is about as much a waste of time as a day trip to Berlin, unless there is something particularly special on at the time that you could never see again. (For me, the trip to Berlin was worthwhile only because it was exactly when Christo had wrapped the Reichstag.)
