dave&micki Posted September 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2006 Hi ~ we have booked the Marriot Resort & Casino for our cruise in January 07 ~ we now hear the construction will be going on until March 07 ~ has anyone been there recently and if so.....how are the rooms? I know the tower is closed and i'm hearing that the poolside rooms are musty ~ is there other rooms besides the tower & poolside? I can't cancel as we got these rooms through priceline, but.... I would like to know if the rooms are okay. We are staying 2 days pre and 1 day post. Any answers would be appreciated.....thanks and happy sailing to all :D
babylene Posted September 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2006 Hi! We are in the same boat as you. We booked one whole week through Priceline for Feb. Just read about the closed tower and musty rooms (must have read the same review as you did). Would like to hear any positive (or other negative) feedback. If you hear anything else, would you please post it here? I will do the same. Thanks

texancruzer Posted September 29, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2006 Have heard that you will have to "scream bloody murder" to get them to put you in a nicer room.... they save the smelly ones for those who have booked on Priceline :( Good luck

love2cruiseseattle Posted September 29, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2006 We were there last October and our room was on the 10th floor with a partial ocean/city view. There was construction going on with some rooms, not sure which ones. I did not think our room smelled. We had a wonderful stay, the service was very good and our room was very clean. The bed was extra comfy.
Tfish Posted September 29, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2006 What did you pay thru Priceline? Did you bid "resort"? When did u bid? TIA
babylene Posted September 30, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 30, 2006 We bid last April, requested "resort" and got the Marriott for one week in Feb. @$95.00. Hope we will be happy. The last time we stayed in PR, we were at the Intercontinental, which we really liked. But that was in Oct. and the price was much beter than in Feb. So we took our chances and we hope for the best. love2cruiseseattle Posted October 2, 2006 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2006 We had booked it about 9 months before our trip, we used a TA and got a refundable rate of $129 which included the breakfast buffet. We could have gotten a rate of $99, but it was non refundable. The lady at the check in counter said we received a great rate.
