sbpat Posted October 18, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2006 Some of you had been asking about a nice hotel w/free shuttle service to the pier and free parking for the week. Here's what we have: (I called to confirm this morning that this offer is still good and it is!!!) Holiday Inn Select at the New Orleans Convention Center- $129.00 for a one night stay, free shuttle to the pier, and free parking for the week. This hotel looks beautiful and I think this is a super deal. We'll be going this Friday...only 2 more days-YAHOO!!!! (When you call to book it, ask for Mariah Lopez, the reservation manager. Tell her you want the park n cruise rate of 129.00) (504) 571-7720;)

tricruisers Posted October 19, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2006 We booked this hotel with Mariah for January 5, 07 with the weekly parking. The rate was $139.99 for 3 adults. Still a great deal. The hotel looks great.
sbpat Posted October 31, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 31, 2006 The Holiday Inn Select was beautiful!!! We had a great stay, the parking was fine, and the service was excellent. It was a great deal for 129.00 (which inlcudes parking for the week.) The only problem-there was no shuttle to the pier. My husband ended up driving us to the pier w/ our luggage, then he walked back over to park the car at the hotel. It took him about 15 minutes. Not bad though!!! The other thing you can do is get a taxi which the hotel concierge was willing to arrange for us. We didn't want to pay any extra, so just walked instead. sbpat Posted November 28, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted November 28, 2006 It's directly across the street from the Convention Center. We also walked about 2 blocks to Harrah's Casino and there's the boardwalk with all their trendy shops and restaurants within 2 blocks.
LHP Posted November 29, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2006 There is also a trolley that runs from the Riverwalk to the other end of the Quarter. Just make sure you stay on main streets when walking in well lit areas and you should be fine.

For maps & info on Nola www.nola.com or www.neworleansonline.com Holiday Inn French Quarter is showing free parking offers on the 2nd link. Someone posted that they are now offering a cruise package too. It's closer to the French Quarter.
