Catamaran Sail & Snorkel

Celebrity lists this excursion as:

Catamaran Sail & Snorkel - Departing from La Romana Casa de Campo Port your air-conditioned bus will take you to the Marina Casa de Campo to board the 82 feet long catamaran. During the cruise, you will be welcomed with spacious sun decks and shaded lounge areas to relax. Sunbathe or dance with the rhythm of the merengue music. You will sail along the Dominican coast, admiring the beautiful coastal views and the crystal sea. The tour will stop for snorkeling and swimming in the pleasant sea. During the tour, you will taste unique Dominican rum, fresh fruit punch and delicious fruit skewers. Snorkeling equipment is available on the boat.”

The questions I have are:· Does anyone know the vendor/supplier of this excursion?

· How is the bus ride to the Marina where you board the catamaran?

· How many people were on the catamaran with you? Was there room for everyone?

· Is this a “party” boat with lots of drinking? Or is it family oriented?

· Is the music nice and relaxing? Or loud and blaring?

· How long is the stop for snorkeling/swimming? What is the quality of snorkeling?

· Where does the catamaran take you? What do you see?

· How is the crew?

· If you were a first time snorkeler, did they assist you?

· If you were an advanced snorkeler, did you get enough time in the water?

I can’t wait to hear your stories and adventures!

I went to http://www.cruisecal.com and put in Casa de Campo, Domincan Republic as the port.

I put in 10/23/2006 thru 03/30/2007 as the dates.

What came up were the following cruise lines:

Celebrity (Millenium)

Costa (Magica & Mediterranea)

It looks like the first in port this winter season is Costa Magica on 11/30.

And the second is Celebrity Millenium on 12/12.

So my idea is to gain the wisdom and experience of those of you who are stopping early in the season to this magnificent island. And it’s people, beauty, culture, and environment. If you have anything to share (the good, the bad, the ugly) those of us coming after would greatly appreciate it! Or if you already have visited, we’d love to hear your stories too!
