Our ship leaves at 5pm. If you were choose one of the options, based on the ship leaving ag 5pm, what would you choose? Or, should I skip it altogether and do something else (what should that "something else" be?)

I've never cruised into St Lucia (hardly cruised at all in fact). However, I have holidayed in St Lucia many times. If I were you I would take a cab to Reduit Beach which is IMHO one of the best beaches on the island. You can hire a nice lounger in front of the Royal St Lucian and will have the choice of a number of places to eat - whether the Rex or Royal Hotels or several restaurants in the vicinity.

You can then come and go as you please, without being tied into 'morning' or 'afternoon' packages. If you want to take part in any watersports there are plenty of opportunities to do so on this beach.
