can I use my cell phone on the crown princess?

I was wondering if the Crown had the equipment to let those of us who are desperate to call home to make cell calls on the ship??

We were on the Grand on Dec 9 and our cell phone (Verizon) worked fine. I believe the plan is that all Princess ships will offer this service. You should check with your cell provider. By the way, the cost is $2.79 per minute. So beware!

When we were on Grand, there was a cell phone plan available. At the end of the cruise, we got a questionnaire, explaining that the cell reception is BLOCKED in the dining room, the theater, and all lounges. They asked if we approved of that!

Make absolutely sure you call your cell phone carrier to find out what their charges may be for calling from the ship or an international destination. You don't want to be surprised with a $300 cell phone bull when you get home.
