bbcruiser Posted July 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2004 We are going on an Alaska cruise next month with our 20 month old son. We are hoping to do some hiking, so we thought we'd bring our baby backpack. Do you think we will need a stroller also? We have an umbrella type stroller (Chicco Caddy). Will the stroller be handy on the cruise ship? We're on NCL, and I'm pretty certain they don't have any strollers to rent. Thanks for the info. michaelsmom Posted July 23, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2004 There will be plenty of times that you won't want to carry your baby on your back, but might want him not to run around. The ships are large and getting from point A to point B can be quite a distance. I would think an umbrella stroller would work fine, unless you are thinking you want him to nap in it. mommiemudd Posted July 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2004 The stroller was great on the ship. We did a lot of exploring and our little one and us would have been exhausted if she had to walk or if we had to carry her all over the ship. She falls asleep anywhere so she took naps while we strolled. It also came in handy on our shore excursions.
