Comfort Inn - Nassau - Does anyone know

Recommended Posts

how many wristbands you get if you book a room for the day?

DH and I were thinking of doing this and wondered if it entitled you to 4 wristbands perhaps someone traveling on our cruise would like to share?

We are well prepared to spend the $300 for access to Atlantis for the two of us but if another couple was considering doing the samething we might be able to share the cost.

Has anyone done this with success? Just curious.

Yes, you can get up to 4 wristbands for the price of one room. Did you check the ports of call forum and do a search? At one point there was a link to a special reservation site where you got a special rate. Usually it was under $200 a night. Maybe you are going during a really busy season so it will cost more.

I'm sure you'd have no problem if you ask for 4 bands but the hard part will be tracking down the other couple to go with you. Maybe if you are part of a roll call group you can find others who want to split the cost with you. If there is no roll call started yet, you should start one. I think that's your best bet to find another couple.

Take a look at Atlantis before making this investment. You can wander the shops, eat in the restaurants, play in the casino, etc. without paying for a room. If you want to use the pools and towel services then you will need a room, but most adults find a trip to a beach to be more enjoyable.

(The DIG is interesting but in reality is nothing more than a small aquarium, and the pools, are pools except that there are a few water slides.) (With children in tow there are different considerations, but the OP mentions another couple, so I assume that no children are along.)

We aren't really interested in the Dig etc. but want to use a beach and pool and have heard Atlantis is very nice. Part of me says it's crazy to spend $260 (the cheapest I've found for the date we are going) for 4 hours at a pool, then DH says maybe we should see it atleast once . . . I don't know.

I've read about a hotel, a Hilton I think that's close to the pier where you can buy day passes for $12 to use their pool and beach which seems much for sensical.

We just want to relax and enjoy the beach/pool and $260 does seem like a lot for 2 people to do that. Maybe we will just get a cab and ask the cab driver to recommend a nice beach and hotel where we can get a day pass . . . and leave it to chance.:)

Here's the link to the discount.

http://www.smartertravel.com/discounts/Save-Quality-Comfort-Clarion.html?id=16348

Read the section that says, "How to Receive Your up to 20% Discount at over 3,500 Choice Hotel Locations" and click on the link.

That's it! I made my reservation through that link and it was $168. I was taking my 2 teenaged daughters though.

I'd never do it for myself. The place was way to big for my liking. The Hilton for $12 for a day pass sounds much more reasonable.

Another thing about Atlantis - the guests staying in the hotel go down VERY early and place things on the lounge chairs so it's very hard to get a chair near the pool. You've seen nothing like this on a cruise ship. I mean the quantity of saved chairs at Atlantis is rediculous.

Mommabean, thanks for the tip about the chairs. You helped me make my decision :) . I don't need the pressure or aggrevation of trying to find a chair etc.

I did try the link and the cheapest they had a room at Comfort Inn was $260 - you got a good deal!

The Hilton it is. Thanks everyone for their help.

We had the taxi drop us off just a block before Atlantis...There's a free beach there that adjoins theirs. You can bring a twin flat sheet from home and use it as a beach blanket. We rented an umbrella and bought drinks served in coconuts...The water was clear and beautiful. We rented ski-doos and had a wonderful day at a very low cost.

My daughter and I booked a room in the Comfort in Oct. '05 for $140 for the day. Ship docked at 8 a.m. and didn't leave until midnight, so we had the whole day and no worries about time. My daughter absolutely LOVED Atlantis and enjoyed the pools, slides, aquarium and everything else. When we finally were ready to head back to the ship, we were able to take our time, shower up in a regulation-sized bathroom and arrive back at the ship ready to eat.

Just like anything else, not everybody would find it worthwhile, but we most definitely did. Lounge chairs were never an issue at all for us. We easily found chairs near whatever pools or slides we were hanging around at that time.

Yes, I think at $140 a day and with a kid it would be worth it. Everyone needs to remember the seasonal prices. Summer is really the slower season due to heat and hurricane risk but Sept and Oct are the slowest season of all because you can add the return of kids to school into the mix. It would seem logical that during the lowest priced season that lounge chairs wouldn't be as big an issue either.

We went in August but it was a Sunday when we were in Nassau which would account for the higher occupancy rate and the chair hogs.

But chair or no chair, without kids I wouldn't pay that much to go there.

cruisecoaster, you have won the award for the lowest comfort inn room price I've even seen. :)

If you walk 1/2 block passed the Hilton there is a free beach. Same water. Clean & Safe. A little outside bar is right across the street. We have taken our kids there every year we go. The Hilton Hotel is the Orange roof on the left in the foreground (near pier). You can see the retaining walls in the water. Before the first wall is the Hilton. Everything after that is Junkanoo beach. Clean & Safe.
