LARGIN Posted January 28, 2007 #51 Share Posted January 28, 2007 Texasmom... Since your "What part of the rule don't you understand" was directed at me and as usual misguided as I was referring to the gambling age, I will enlighten you on the most current Princess Passage Contact, the only legal document that you will receive on what is required of you and the cruise line while on a cruise. It is not the cruise brochure nor is it a cruise answer book that provides guidance to the cruiser. Here is what is says.. I suggest you read it carefully as it does NOT say that it is forbidden to bring alcohol on board during embarkation Carrier kindly requests that you do not bring alcoholic beverages of any kind (except wine and champagne) on board for consumption. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased duty free, from the ship’s gift shop, or at ports of call will be collected by Carrier personnel for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the voyage. A member of Carrier’s security staff will be at the gangway to assist with the storage of your alcoholic beverage purchases. A corkage fee of $15.00 per bottle will be applied to wine and champagne consumed in the ship’s restaurant. Again it seems that certain people like to change the intent of the OP.. This thread has nothing to with anything but what is the minimum age that someone can gamble on Princess. If you wish to debate other issues I suggest you start a new thread. dforeigner Posted January 28, 2007 #53 Share Posted January 28, 2007 It's not rocket science .. people shouldn't post "what part of the rule don't you understand" when they break the rules themselves, such as smuggling alcohol. Someone under 21 might be able to gamble if they looked older, but if they won something big they might not be able to collect because they would be asked to show ID. It's a risk but it won't get you kicked off the ship, as is smuggling alcohol. They will just hold it until the end of the cruise but it hasn't been reported much here. Again, it is a request not a rule: It is not a rule; it is a request. http://www.princess.com/faq/onboard_experience.html Question: What is the alcohol policy onboard Princess Cruises? Answer: We kindly request that you do not bring alcoholic beverages (other than wine and/or champagne) onboard for consumption. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased duty free from the ship's gift shop or at ports of call will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the voyage. A member of our Security Staff will be at the gangway to assist with the storage of your alcoholic beverage purchases. The reason because people under 21 y/o are not allowed to drink or gamble on cruises (Princess) leaving the US is because the company has decided to follow US laws due to liability. They do not want to get sued for contributing to the delinquency of a minor by serving alcohol to someone who is under 21.

riggrnr Posted February 2, 2007 #55 Share Posted February 2, 2007 Could someone please tell me what the hours of casino operation is? DH was told by a friend that while the ship was in ports that the casino was closed and the only time you could gamble was while we were on sea days. Now is this correct? Thanks for your input. The casino will open on port days once you have left port and in international waters, and the times will be posted in the patters.
