attire at dinner

Recommended Posts

for dinner on casual nights, like I was going to a nice restaurant locally. Even though I own jeans that cost more then some folks entire outfit, I still never pack a single pair for our cruises. I like to dress in nice dresses, slacks, etc...for casual nights, since cruises are so special to us, I like dressing as special. To each it's own...I would never put one down, unless they were totally sloppy looking..LOL But, you do see it ALL on cruises.

We did see a lady that had a skirt over her swimsuit, but no top over it and in the Windjammer for lunch, they would NOT let her in. So FYI for those thinking Windjammer is super casual as well. :)

This is not directed at the OP. It seems to me that when we are on a cruise that we have chosen a vacation that has "suggested attire at dinner". To me that says I should adhere to that. If you don't want to dress that way, go to the casual dining area or go on another type of vacation. I honestly think some just like the shock factor of showing up in shorts and to prove they don't have to abaide by the "suggestion".

The shock is when the Maitre'D refuses them entrance to the dining room. You should see the shock on their faces...

I've seen it happen, and felt like applauding the Head Waiter who escorted the guy in raggedy shorts and a wife beater shirt to the exit...

Which would have made you as classless as the person being escorted out.
