FYI --

I received the following e-mail from Patouche today in reference to my confirmed reservation for later this month:

Good Evening,

Terribly sorry to have to write this note, however, im afraid we are

unable

to take you out for your charter to the Baths.

Oil N Water lost a transmission yesterday and will not be fixed in time

for

your charter.

You might try http://www.bviwelcome.com, as an avenue for you to find another

way

to get to the Baths during you stay.

Again i apologize, especailly for the last mintue notice.

Please enjoy your day and hopefully you will remember us on your return

visit to the BVI :)

thank you for your understaning,

Julie :)

As I posted in reply on the Tortola board...

I'm sure it's a pain that this has happened and I feel bad for you but boats are like any other mechanical thing and do break down. At least Julie was able to let you know ahead of time so that you can find something else. I would bet she is contacting anyone with a charter on Oil N Water. I honestly don't understand the point of your post. Are you angry with them because their boat broke down?

Pyrate13 -- I am not at all angry with Julie. I sent her a return e-mail thanking her for the advance notice. The purpose of my post was as I stated at the beginning of my post -- "FYI". I'm sure many people reading these boards have trips scheduled with Patouche in the next couple of weeks. In the event Julie couldn't contact each and every one of them, I'm sure they would appreciate learning about this in advance on these boards rather than the day they showed up in port.
