rlowe38742 Posted March 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Ramada Limited Galveston for Total: USD 103.44 or Baymont Inn & Suites Galveston for Total: USD 126.33 Now which one is a better hotel or closer to the pier? The baymount seems newer
GCurry Posted March 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Baymont is very new, Ramada was mid 80s and somewhat beach worn the last time I was there. The Ramada is much closer, but only by a couple of miles.

GCurry Posted March 15, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2007 I didnt know the baymount was so far The Ramada is 1.7 miles to the terminals, Baymont 4.4, both on the Seawall. Transportation isn't all that expensive in Galveston nor is traffic usually a problem. It's probably a ten minute drive from Baymont to the terminals. margord Posted March 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2007 Check out galveston.com I am staying at the Hotel Galvez for 99 bucks before my April Ecstasy cruise. Wow how did you get it for $99? That is a great price.
ChristieDawn Posted March 16, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2007 Wow how did you get it for $99? That is a great price. I think it just depends on when you are traveling. I got the Harbor House for $85 plus tax and free cruise parking on galveston.com. I am cruising at the same time as Jobster71 April 16th!:p The La Quinta Inn and Suites is $60 plus tax plus $10 for cruise parking but it's about a 15 min shuttle ride (per the employee at the front deck) I wanted to be closer to the pier. clearlakecruisers Posted March 20, 2007 #13 Share Posted March 20, 2007 There are several new-ish motels on I-45/Gulf Freeway near Hobby Airport. Check out this one: Houston Hobby Airport Marriott® 9100 Gulf Freeway Houston, Texas 77017 USA Phone: 1-713-943-7979 Fax: 1-713-943-2160 Sales: 1-713-943-7979 or Google "Motels, Houston, Hobby Airport". That bought up lots of sites for lodging in that area.
rlowe38742 Posted March 22, 2007 Author #14 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Can i get advice for anyone that stayed at Holiday Inn HOUSTON-HOBBY AIRPORT 8611 AIRPORT BOULEVARD OR Holiday Inn Express HOUSTON-HOBBY AIRPORT 8730 GULF FREEWAY
clearlakecruisers Posted March 23, 2007 #15 Share Posted March 23, 2007 As a local, I have never stayed at either, but, from driving by, the Holiday Inn on Airport is very near the airport (noise?) and older, while the Holiday Inn Express is a bit farther from the airport and newer. Don' t know if that helps or not.
