Shaw Park Beach?

Just wondering how this is? We are looking for something to do in Ochos Rios and not really finding anything we like:rolleyes: ?? We would love to find a nice not very crowded beach! Any other suggestions?;)

We took the Royal Caribbean excursion to Shaw Park Beach in February. We had a 15 minute or so ride to the beach where we got a rum punch drink and a lounge chair. The beach is beautiful with nice sand, clear warm water, and a nice view. The edge of the water is rocky until you're in a little ways. There weren't a lot of people from our ship there and maybe 10-15 locals (it was a mid-term break for their students). The ship offered two excursions, the other included a meal. That group left about an hour after we arrived and we didn't see them again! For at least 90 minutes we felt like we pretty much had the beach to ourselves! We had around three hours on the beach and then they took us to Taj Majal for 30 minutes of shopping before heading back to the ship. There is a really pretty clear river (maybe the White River?) that empties into the sea there too.
