Lakey Family Posted August 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2004 We will be on the 1/2/05 POA cruise and would like to do a snorkel or snuba trip how rough will it be at molokini? Are there any suggestions for snorkeling in the winter months? What areas should we avoid? Tom
Splinter Posted August 4, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2004 I am not personally big on Molikini...way over rated in my mind...crowded, few fish, no turtles, and it is not a cheap trip. There are a lot of good places to snorkel in the reef areas off shore along the Kaanapali coast north of Lahaina that you can do right off the beach. In the winter you want to avoid any north shore areas. South shore areas on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai are usually the safest in the winter. Kona varies, so stick to sheltered areas.
