lucyddr Posted April 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2007 What is the closest beach to the pier in Antigua? We are taking an excursion from 11:30-3:00, but were hoping to spend a few afternoon hours walking a beach and possibly snorkelling. Any suggestions? Lofty Posted April 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2007 I just returned from a cruise, and we went to the closest beach to the pier called Runaway Beach. The next one up is Dickenson Beach. Both cost $4 pp each way. Runaway was nice but crowded. There were umbrellas and lounge chairs for rent, but we just layed on a towel and swam for a couple hours before returning to the ship. It was a really nice day and not too expensive.

travelteam Posted April 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2007 which beach has bars/restaurants, lounges and great sand. Many posts on the subject, but still am unclear. We were thinking about going to Dickensons's beach for the afternoon, rent chairs/umbrella's and chill out for the day. What do you Antigua experts think of our plan? Karysa Posted April 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I think Dickenson Bay beach is a great place for the afternoon that you described. It is a lively spot and a wonderful beach for strolling.
