Be forewarned that if you are getting into town on the day of a shuttle launch there wlll be lots of traffic so be prepared. Many Floridans and others travel to be in the area when a shuttle launch happens. We love to watch the watch from the banks of the river or at the Space Center. It is an awesome sight and I never get tired of going to see it. You will be awed.

I tried to do this once when I lived in Orlando. We all got up early in the morning to head to the beach. STayed out there for what seemed like forever before we heard that it was scrubbed. Heard the launch the next morning on the radio as I was waking up. :(
