we are supposed to be on the empress in late June, we have an independent land trip for 10 days prior to the cruise, trying to figure my next move...simple solution is to go ahead and do the land trip and change my return flight to when my cruise would have started....cant wait forever obviously....what would you do. Since I dont know the damage incurreed and repair time, how long do you think it will be before majestic knows he score? Thanks my wheels are spinning and just need a shove.

I'd be looking for one of the incredible deals available for that date on other ships - not to book yet, but so you know what's available at the last minute. The odds of her being back in service in 5-6 weeks are about zero by the sounds of it.

I'm sorry your original cruise might be in jeopardy - but I'm glad your land trip is before the cruise. I agree with Murray - see what else is available now while waiting to hear what Majestic will do about your current cruise.

Exactly. There are plenty of good deals up here right now. Hopefully, once Majestic finds out more, they can let you know or rebook you on another line.

 

The Juneau newspaper (http://www.juneauempire.com) is reporting that the ship is being escorted back to Juneau's Auke Bay Ferry Terminal by a coast guard ship and passengers are being taken to the ferry terminal aboard other ships.
